PURPOSE:To obtain indexes from various points of view when an index is produced or retrieval is carried out, by extracting the derivative words just by indicating a hierarchical relation among the unit words which form a word to a given word. CONSTITUTION:A bracket extracting means 4 extracts the brackets within the words for index equivalent to a record, and a bracket analyzing means 5 analyzes the extracted brackets after supplying the input information to which the bracket information indicating a hierarchcal relation among the unit words is applied. A replacemet processing means 6 to which the result of analysis is supplied performs an order replacing indication among the unit words positioning in the same stratum within the index words equivalent to each record as well as an order replacing indication among the unit words or the unit word groups positioning between the upper and lower sides. In addition, an edition processing means 7 arrays the unit words on the basis of the obtained result and then newly extracts the index words. Then the index words derived from the extracted index words equivalent to a record are extracted. |
