PURPOSE:To attain background level compensation without level difference between jointed parts, by detecting the level of the full white part in the joint of the original read splitted by plural chanels, and making this detected value to the background level reference of the original. CONSTITUTION:A picture signal of joint parts A of the reading region of the original 1 consisting of two solid-stage image picup elements CCD1, CCD2 is given to peak hold circuits 8, 9 via switches SW1, SW2 controlled with a control circuit 7 operated in synchronizing with the drive of each CCD. The level detection of the full white part of the joint A is done at the peak hold circuit and the level is added to picture signals B1, B2 at addition circuits 12, 13 as the background level of the original 1. The outputs of the addition circuits 12, 13 being compensated for background level are reduced to picture signals B1', B2' refering to the white level via inverting circuits 14 and 15. |
