PURPOSE:To easily massproduct magnetic heads to be used for vertical magnetic recording by attaching soft magnetic material blocks to base plates between which a thin film made of a soft magnetic material is put. CONSTITUTION:One surface of a base plate 5 such as ceramic material is ground and the soft magnetic thin film 1 is formed on the ground surface by thin film forming technique such as sputtering method. The thin film 1 is etched to form a band-like pattern or a narrowed pattern on its leading end part. Subsequently another base plate 10 is adhered to the base plte 5 while applying pressure so as not to generate a gap between the base plate 10 and the thin film pattern. Said adhered base plates 5, 10 are cut off into small members so that one of the patterns formed on the soft magnetic thin film put between the base plates 5, 10 is included in each small member and one cut surface of each small member is ground to adhere a soft magnetic block 6. Finally the leading end of the small member is worked. |
