PURPOSE:To acquire the accurate distribution of particle size, by providing the titled device with a sedimentation vessel wherein a sample agitated uniformly in a solvent solution and put in the state of suspension is sealed up, with a rotary disc whereon said vessel is mounted, and with a centrifugal motor rotating said rotary disc, etc. CONSTITUTION:A measuring apparatus for distribution of particle size has a sedimentation vessel 1 wherein a sample agitated uniformly in a solvent solution and put in the state of suspension is sealed up, a rotary disc 2 whereon said vessel is mounted, a centrifugal motor 3 rotating this rotary disc 2, a light source 4 which is provided at a prescribed distance from the center of rotation for detecting the concentration of the suspension in rotation by a light transmission method, and a light-receiving element 5 receiving a light from the light source through a slit 6, etc. An error accompanying the diffusion of particles in a centrifugal force field is compensated, and the distribution of particle size is computed. Thereby an accurate distribution of particle size can be found. |
