PURPOSE:To perform accurate measurement to a part smaller than graduation unit by providing a vernier on an object scale of the measuring tape. CONSTITUTION:A flexible strip 2, on which the graduation 1 is provided, is wound and contained in a case 3 so that it can be drawn. An end piece 5 having a protruded part 4 at a lower part is attached to the end of the strip. The vernier 8, which has a protruded part 6 at the lower surface and the graduation 7 on the upper surface, is attached to the strip 2. Both ends of a body A are contacted with the protruded parts 4 and 6, and the graduations 1 and 7 are read. In this way, the accurate measurement to the part smaller than the graduation unit can be performed. |
