PURPOSE:To unify the energy distribution of laser beam and to obtain a cathode structure with enough weld strength, by radiating laser beam from a laser oscillator through an optical fiber, in plural cathode-supporting members to be welded and fixed to a cathode sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam 23 from a laser oscillator 22 is introduced into an optical fiber 27 through a lens 26 from an end part 271 of the optical fiber 27 whose core is made of quartz and whose diameter is, for instance, less than 0.6mm.; a laser beam coming from the other end 272 of the optical fiber 27 is radiated through a processed lens 25 so that a weld-fixing point 8 may be formed, and in this case a cathode sleeve 3 is inserted into a core metal 21 made of copper etc., an end part of a cathode support 4 is disposed at an end part of the sleeve 3 so that the support 4 may be hermetically attached to the sleeve 3 by means of an adequate method. Consequently, the cathode sleeve and the cathode supporting member can be securely welded and fixed to each other, and thereby a cathode structure of very high quality can be obtained. |
