PURPOSE:To improve the horizontal resolution remarkably without the deterioration in the vertical resolution, by vibrating a solid-state image chip substrate to an incident optical image relatively toward the arbitrary direction. CONSTITUTION:A CCD chip substrate is vibrated at an amplitude A relatively with an incident optical image toward the X. The time change of the vibration is trapezoidal by taking one frame period at the CCD pickup operation as one period. When the A is smaller than a horizontal cell pitch pH, the space sampling region toward the horizontal direction in one frame period is two regions. Thus, the cell signals of the fields A, B are displayed with being shifted so as to be matched to the actual sampling on the space on a reproducing picture, allowing to attain two or more horizontal resolution. |
