PURPOSE:To attain quickly and effectively transmission, by determining the transmission mode at a control means and switching the connection to a line, in a communication system for facsimile communication and data communication on the same line. CONSTITUTION:In transmitting picture information from a communication device 1 to a communication device 2, when a facsimile communication selection switch of an operation setting section 11 is depressed, a signal D1 corresponding to the depression is applied to a control circuit 12 and the circuit 12 stores the signal D1. When, a telephone set T1 calls up a T2 for the information of the transmission of picture information, and when a transmission starting switch of operation setting sections 11, 21 is depressed, a control signal Sc from the circuits 12, 22 is applied to switching circuits 15, 25 with the signal D1 to connect the circuits 12, 22 to a line L and the circuit 12 transmits the signal D1 to the circuit 22. Thus, when the circuit 22 transmits a response signal capable of transmitting picture information, the circuits 12, 22 switch the circuits 15, 25 to facsimile communication circuits 13, 23 for the transmission of picture information. When this process is finished, an end signal S1 is transmitted to the circuits 12 and 22. Data communication circuits 14, 24 perform communication in the similar ways. |
