PURPOSE:To realize a sufficient reinforcing effect of a cathode-ray tube, which is made safely handled and easily manufactured, and enable an effective picture screen to be obtained by installing at least part of a fitted member, which is used for supporting and fixing the member to a displayer, between a panel and a metallic band. CONSTITUTION:A fitted member 7 having a fitting hole 9 used for supporting and fixing the member 7 to a displayer is installed on the outermost periphery of a panel 1 having an effective picture screen 4 the inner wall of which is provided with a fluorescent film. In addition, a metallic band 6 is fastened around the outer circumference of the member 7. Thus, the member 7 and the band 6 are provided within an area surrounded by lines (SA) which are formed by extending parallel to the major axis of the panel 1 the maximum outside diameter of the minor axis of the rectangular panel, and lines (LA) which are formed by extending parallel to the minor axis the maximum outside diameter of the major axis. By the means mentioned above, a cathode-ray tube can be safely handled and easily manufactured, and a sufficient reinforcing effect of the cathode-ray tube is realized. Beside, an effective picture screen which is larger relative to the size of the CRT, which includes the member 7, can be obtained. |
