<p>The prepn. comprises reaction of cpd. of formula (II) with chloromethyl -methyl-ether to produce cpd. of formula (III). Where W may be an amine gp. or hexahydro-1H -azepin-1-yl radical. When W is amine, cpd. (III) is reacted with suitable reagents to substitute hexahydro-1H -azepin-1-yl in position 6 of the antibiotic skeleton, giving the prod. 6-(hexahydro-1H -azepin-1-yl)-methylamine -penicillanic acid methoxymethyl ester, (I) which has microbiological and pharmacokinetic properties.</p> |
