PURPOSE:To enable to convert the change of the environmental temperature into mechanical energy, by using a spiral spring made of a configuration memory alloy that is wound up when the environmental temperature is low and unwound when the environmental temperature is high. CONSTITUTION:An energy accumulating apparatus of this invention is so constructed that a spiral spring made of a configuration memory alloy is wound up in winter when the temperature is low and unwound in summer when the temperature is high. Here, the critical temperature of the alloy constituting the spiral spring is selected at an intermediate temperature (for instance, about 15 deg.C) between the temperature in summer and that in winter. The spiral spring is wound up by an energy corresponding to the area A shown in the drawing when the temperature is low and unwound when the temperature is high. By the above process, a large amount of energy corresponding to the area B is accumulated in the spiral spring, so that an amount of energy corresponding to the area (B-A) can be obtained from the change in the environmental temperature. |
