Blow formed plastic container has top finally press formed - to produce integral fixing eyes for separate hand grip

The blow-formed plastic container has filling and vent openings in an otherwise closed upper wall. On completion of the blow-forming operation, this upper wall is subjected to a press-forming operation whilst the material is still formable to produce integral hand grip elements. These elements consist of anchoring points only which are suitable for securing a separate hand grip. The elements may be in the form of eyes capable of receiving connector pins for the hand grip. The arrangement saves material as it does not require a deep indentation to produce an integral grip.
