PURPOSE:To ensure safe operation of a microwave heating apparatus, by eliminating leakage of microwaves to the outside when some trouble is caused with the apparatus by attaching a heating operation starting controller to a door so that the heating operation of the apparatus is not started until the door closes a heating chamber. CONSTITUTION:A microwave heating apparatus of this invention comprises a main body 1 having therein a heating chamber 2 in which a food to be heated is placed, a door 5 for opening and closing the heating chamber 2, and a heating operation starting switch 18 attached to the main body 1. In such a microwave heating apparatus, a heating operation starting controller 15 operated to close the switch 18 is attached to the door 5. The controller 15 consists of a button member 11 and a pawl-like lever 12 which is moved toward and away from the back of the door 5 for actuating the switch 18 in association with the button member 11. That is, a high-frequency oscillation circuit is not started before the door 5 is closed, the lever 12 projected through depression of the button member 11 comes into engagement with a latch member 17a, and the switch 18 is closed directly by the lever 12. |
