PURPOSE:To increase the hardness of a receptor having a photoconductor with high surface hardness and to improve the printing resistance by using a specified Al alloy having a eutectic structure as the material of the substrate and by vacuum depositing amorphous Se on the substrate. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy consisting of, by wt, 8-15% Si, 1-4% Cu, 0.05- 0.6% Mg and the balance Al is used as the material of the substrate of an electrophotographic receptor. Since the Si crystals in the Al alloy having a eutectic structure are granular and have <=4mum average grain size, 120-140Hv Vickers hardness is provided to the alloy. By vacuum depositing Se or Si on the Al alloy substrate, an armophous Se or Si layer is formed to obtain an electrophotographic receptor. The surface hardness of this receptor is >=7H pencil hardness which is higher than conventional hardness, and the printing resistance is improved. |
