The invention relates to a die-casting machine, having a pressing plunger displaceable in a pressing cylinder, having hydraulic damping at the mould end of the pressing cylinder. In the known die-casting injection systems, pressure peaks occurred at the end of mould charging, on the one hand, and difficulties arose with the ejection of the butt, on the other hand, since high speeds were produced here by the pressing plunger. The latter disadvantage was eliminated by providing a damping space in the outflow region of the hydraulic medium, which space braked the pressing plunger during the ejection of the butt. However, this gave rise to disadvantages as regards hydraulic efficiency. To reduce the abovementioned pressure peaks and to improve the ejection of the butt, the invention proposes that a damping space (12) be arranged between the outflow opening (5) for the hydraulic medium and the mould-side front end (8a) of the pressing cylinder (8), adjoining the rod-side pressing-plunger cylinder space (1a). The hydraulic efficiency is thereby improved. The pressure peaks at the end of the mould-charging phase are reduced by the further feature according to the invention, that the damping space (12) is of coaxially adjustable design, since the damping region comes into effect during the mould-charging phase. <IMAGE>
