The invention relates to a safety ski binding having a sole-holder which can be swivelled about a transverse axis and a vertical axis and is held in its normal position holding the boot by catch elements which yield only after overcoming predetermined vertical and lateral releasing forces, the catch elements of the two engagements being provided spatially separately from one another on a catch support constructed as a slide, and the first counter-catch being provided on the rear region of the sole-holder and the second counter-catch being provided on a component which can be attached to the ski. The slide is arranged in a support body and is loaded by a release spring. Said support body can be swivelled counter to the force of a second spring about a swivel journal forming the vertical axis and anchored in a baseplate of the binding. The underlying technical problem of the invention is to improve the elasticity of the ski binding of the generic type whilst simultaneously increasing its convenience of putting-on. This object is achieved in that the second spring loads a piston which, in turn, is mounted in the slide and guided parallel thereto and is supported with its head on a catch member having a curved path and forming the second counter-catch.

|
