In a device on motor vehicle trailer combinations for steering the trailer, consisting of two live rings arranged coaxially over the front trailer axle, the upper live ring of which is connected via a drawbar or forked drawbar to the motor vehicle, the object is to be achieved of providing a very simple mechanical device for steering the trailer which cannot only be coupled and decoupled easily but is also characterised by the fact that it can be adjusted in such a way that the trailer runs exactly in the tracks of the motor vehicle and thus exhibits a steering behaviour which is identical to that of the motor vehicle. The invention achieves this object by clamping crosswise two pieces of cable between the lower live ring of the trailer and two cable mounting devices attached under the rear part of the motor vehicle. These two pieces of cable assume the steering of the front axle of the trailer. This is an extremely simple construction.
