The invention relates to a combustion engine with internal combustion. The internal combustion engine contains a cylinder (1) with a piston (2) which is kinematically connected to the crankshaft (4), a cylinder cover (5) with an antechamber (6), a fuel injection nozzle (7) and an injection hole element (8) with a by-pass channel (9) and a main chamber (12) between the cylinder cover (6) and the piston (2) in its upper dead-centre position. In the wall of the injection hole element (8) there are atomisation holes (10) which connect the antechamber (6) to the main chamber (12). The piston (2) is provided with a projection (11) which engages in the by-pass channel (9) when the piston (2) is positioned in the vicinity of the upper dead-centre. The relation of the diameters of the projection (11) and of the by-pass channel (9) is 0.85 to 0.95. The axes (13) of the atomisation holes (10) are at an angle of 60 to 80 DEG with respect to the axis (14) of the cylinder (1).
