The invention relates to a procedure for hot-dip galvanising metal objects in which the objects are immersed in the liquid zinc. The essence of the invention is that, prior to immersion, those areas of the surface of the objects which are not to adsorb any zinc are coated with a ceramic layer which is deposited in an arc plasma and is based, in particular, on titanium oxide and/or aluminium oxide. <IMAGE>
