PURPOSE:To improve abrasion resistance and mounting property by forming the roller cover of the water bar while using the copolymer of vinyl acetate and vinyl alcohol or the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol as a main material. CONSTITUTION:The copolymer of vinyl acetate and vinyl alcohol or the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol is changed into a liquefied material by dissolution into an organic solvent or heating and melting, fiber pieces shrunk by water are added to the material and kneaded, the kneaded material is applied onto the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical die 1 from said kneaded material supply port 2 and dried, and a tubular resin composition shaped in this manner is cured while being compressed by external pressure under heating. Since the roller cover is shrunk by water absorption, a rubber roller is covered with the cover when the cover is used, and the cover is easily stuck fast and fixed positively to the rubber roller when the cover is moistened by water. |
