Three basic frames (11, 20, 12) are set up transversely to the lying direction and connected to one another at their outer edges by means of diagonal slats (19). A total of three lying surfaces is formed by shuttering boards (21) or roof battens (22) which extend along the lying direction and are fixed on support slats of the basic frames (11, 20, 12). One head board (15) per lying surface is arranged in each case on a basic frame (12) serving as the end frame. By omitting the centre posts on the basic frames, two mattresses of normal width of 90 to 100 cm can be used per lying surface for three beds in each case. <IMAGE>
