PURPOSE:To enhance S/N, eliminate the need for an expensive optical system and enable writing and erasing, by using a thin organic film comprising donor molecules and acceptor molecules. CONSTITUTION:A laminate structure comprising a donor molecular film 3, an insulating molecular film 4, an acceptor molecular film 5 and an acceptor molecular film 6 comprising acceptor molecules having an electron affinity higher than that of the acceptor molecules in the film 5 is provided in repetition on a substrate comprising a glass substrate 1 and a NESA film 2 by the LB method, and an Au electrode 7 is provided thereon. With the donor molecular film 3 excited by irradiation with light of a predetermined wavelength, it is possible to maintain a stable recorded condition and to write efficiently, since the insulating molecular film 4 and the acceptor molecular film 5 are provided between the donor molecular film 3 and the acceptor molecular film 6. The record written in this recording medium is erased by irradiating the medium with light from a xenon lamp while applying a reverse bias voltage to the medium. |
