A rotary tubular kiln (1) is supported via ball races (3) on stationary rollers (4), at least one ball race (3) also being arranged between two pressure bows (9, 10) limiting the axial movement (8) of the kiln, and the axes (5) of at least some rollers (4) being offset in relation to the kiln axis (6) in order to compensate the axial force of the kiln. Each pressure support (9, 10) is supported via at least one pressure pickup (15, 16) on an abutment (17) fixed to the base, so that the output signal of the pressure pickups (15, 16) can be used for simple adjustment and monitoring of the roller offset. <IMAGE>
