PURPOSE:To fix a cover plate to a clutch outer member without deforming the wedge chambers of the overrunning clutch by a method wherein the cover plate is fitted to one side of a clutch outer member, and then fastened elastically by means of a snap ring. CONSTITUTION:An overrunning clutch is consisted in housing clutch rolls 32 and springs 52 in wedge chambers 51 formed between a clutch outer member 30 and a clutch inner member 31. A recessed part 53 equipped with an annular engaging groove 54 is provided at one side of the clutch outer member 30, while a cover plate 55 is fitted to said recessed part 53 and prevented from being come off by elastically engaging the snap ring 56 made of a steel wire bent in the form of a polygon in the engaging groove 54. |
