The invention relates to an electric force sensor and appertains to the field of electrical measurement of forces with measuring transducers which work with wire strain gauges. By slight modifications to the deformation body, which is of the compression-body type, the invention achieves the object of specifying such a deformation body which avoids the known disadvantages of the compression-body deformation type. Here, the production costs for this deformation body are to be reduced compared with bending, shearing-stress and torsion bodies. The essence of the invention consists in the fact that a zone is formed in the deformation-body sections between the active part carrying the wire strain gauges and the outer force-inducing surfaces, which zone prevents transverse extensions, which preferably originate from friction forces at the force-inducing surfaces, from being transmitted to the active part. In addition, the active zone is to be designed in such a way that it concentrates the useful stresses in the body, which act in the direction of the external force. The fields of application relate to the technology of electrical force measurement. Figure 1 illustrates the mode of operation. <IMAGE>
