The novel throughflow barrier as a filling-level safeguard, especially for liquid fittings, is characterised in that an axially acting sealing cone blocking the throughflow cross section is pushed manually counter to the effect of a restoring spring into a detained opening position by means of an outer sliding sleeve and a connected inner actuating pin, a spring nose engaging under the or into the sliding sleeve, and this spring nose being pulled by a magnetic float, in conjunction with the rising liquid, so far inwards by means of magnetic force that the sliding sleeve, the actuating pin and the sealing cone are pushed by the restoring spring out of the detained opening position into the previous blocking position.
