HOLLOW FIBER BUNDLE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To produce hollow fiber bundles inexpensively with an extremely simple producing device without using any adhesive by cutting both ends of hollow fiber bundles with an electrical heating element thereby forming the hollow fiber bundles. CONSTITUTION:Hollow fiber bundles 5 which are supplied continuously or are bundled by reels, etc. are controlled with delivery rolls 8 and take-up rolls 9 in such a way that the relative moving speeds of an electric wire 1 and fiber bundles 5 in the longitudinal direction of the hollow fibers are made zero. The bundles 5 are melted and cut by the heated wire 6. In this time, the temp. of the wire 6 is set by feeding controlled electric current thereto from a ''Slidac '' 7 and the fiber bundles are melt-cut at the set temp.
