PURPOSE:To require a single of clutch only enough in a paper feed device for a copying machine or the like, by constituting the device such that a rotary unit idle rotatably connected to a feed belt is connected to a one-way roller connected to a power source through a directional clutch. CONSTITUTION:A clutch 7 is engaged, if a shaft 6 is driven, a feed roller 1 and feed belt 2 are rotated in the direction of an arrow head A through a pin 15 of a major contour sprocket 11, cam groove 14 and shafts 2', 1' to feed the uppermost paper A'. While a one-way roller 4 is rotated in the direction of an arrow head B to feed the paper A'. Here the roller 1 and the belt 2 are driven in the same direction by a feed speed of the roller 4 to adapt the pin 15 to the other end of the groove 14 and drive the sprocket 11, and a minor contour sprocket 9 is freely rotated by the action of a directional clutch 8 to feed the paper A' without causing a trouble. By this constitution, a paper feed can be smoothly operated only by a single of clutch. |
