PURPOSE:To protect the edge of an apertured original card from damage, by making a resistance roll of a material of low frictional resistance and by moving down and stopping the resistance roll and operating a right and left resistor in the final stage of resistance action. CONSTITUTION:When the front end of a card (a) is moved to the position A of a sensor, a separating roller 2 is stopped and feed rollers 9 and a resistance roller 3 are driven and a card hold-down member 4 is opened. When the front end of the card (a) is moved to a position B, the resistance roller 3 is moved down so that the card is conveyed while being pinched between the roller and a platen 5. When the front end of the card is moved to a position C, the roller 3 is moved up and a right and left resistor 8 is operated. After that, the roller 3 is moved down and stopped and the card hold-down member 4 is closed to hold the card (a) down. Because of the first resistance action in the front-to-rear direction before the operation of the right and left resistor 8, the card (a) is stipped upstream to a stopper so that the card is protected from damage. The roller 3 is not rotated in the second half of its descent during the second resistance action in the front-to-rear direction, so that the card (a) and the roller slip relative to each other. Since the friction on the roller 3 is low, the card (a) is not damaged. |
