PURPOSE:To make cutting of steel material possible with a small load and obtain flatness of a section by applying high-frequency heating and subsequent bending load to said material before cutting it. CONSTITUTION:When high-frequency heating 2 is applied to the outer peripheral surface 1a of steel material 1, a heated part 1' is transmuted into martensite and remaining compressive pressure is left there, and simultaneously, remaining tensile stress of as much value as balancing with the expansile stress of martensite is left in a part 1'', 2-3mm. aside. After application of high-frequency heating, steel material 1 is moved rightward, and its part 1'' is positioned in a cutting position, then a cutting blade 13 is moved downward to apply bending pressure in the direction perpendicular to the axial core, thus the steel material can be cut. |
