PURPOSE:To reduce local abrasion and to improve frequency characteristics by using Fe-Ni alloy for the dummy block of a magnetic head which has cores made of thin plates of amorphous magnetic alloy and the dummy block. CONSTITUTION:The cores 2 and 2' made of thin plates of amorphous magnetic alloy, new dummy block core 3, and a nonmagnetic base 5 and set in a shield case 4 to form the magnetic head 1. Said dummy block uses Fe-Ni alloy which contains 23-97wt% Fe, 1-40wt% Ni, 1-15wt% Cr, 0.5-6wt% Mo, and 0.5- 4wt% Cu. When this dummy block 3 is nonmagnetic, a ferromanetic backing part 6 is provided for backing successively to the ferromagnetic shield case 4. This magnetic head 1 has less deterioration in frequency characteristics and improved running characteristics. |
