PURPOSE:To obtain copies having proper toner image density independently of the deterioration of a developer and a lamp and high humidity by providing a means for destaticizing the surface of a photosensitive drum and then for charging it again between development and transfer to control the surface potential of toner images. CONSTITUTION:When an electrostatic latent image on the photosensitive drum 6 is developed by a developing device and exposed by an unnecessary image erasing light source 11, photoreceptor remaining potential at the part is annihilated, the surface potential measured by a sensor 10 indicates the quantity of charge of toner itself. Simultaneously the sensor 10 measures also the density of toner image to control the current of a charger 25 and the vias voltage of a development electrode 8. The toner image is discharged by a lamp 12b and an AC component of a charger 12a and then charged again by a DC component of a charge voltage 12c in an exposure discharger 12 to be set to the surface potential to smoothly execute transfer. |
