PURPOSE:To prevent adjacent pressurizing chambers from interfering with each other for stabilizing the ink jet in an ink-on-demand type multinozzle ink jet head, by thinning the thickness of a vibrating plate laminated on a substrate at the part between the adjacent pressurizing chambers. CONSTITUTION:A tabular vibrating plate material 12 and a tabular piezoelectric element material 14 are bonded to a substrate 11 provided with an ink supply path (comprising a supply port 3, supply passages 4, pressurizing chambers 5, supply passages 6 and nozzles 2). Then, the materials 12, 14 are cut at the parts corresponding to the boundaries between the adjacent pressurizing chambers 5 by employing a diamond wheel to cut off the material 14, thereby forming individual piezoelectric elements 7. In addition, grooves 13 having a depth about half the thickness of the material 12 are formed therein to thin the thickness of the vibrating plate at the boundaries between the adjacent pressurizing chambers 5 (i.e., piezoelectric elements 7), thereby forming a head excellent in the ink jet stability. |
