PURPOSE:To provide a reference electrode which is simple to constitute and enables miniaturizing of its size, by a method wherein an electrolytic oxidized polymer film, drived from at least one type of a hydroxyl aromatic compound, is adhered directly to a surface of a halide layer carried by a conductive product. CONSTITUTION:An insulating material 13, such as teflon, covers around a conductive product 11 comprising a conductive material, and a polymer film 12 is adhered and secured directly to the surface of the exposed point of the conductive product 11. The polymer film 12, adhered to the surface of the conductive product 11 formed of preferably silver, consists of a polymer derived from a hydroxyl aromatic compound shown in a specified formula, or a formula of the hydroxyl aromatic compound, where Ar is aromatic, each R is a substituting group, (a) is 1 or more in an integral number, (m) is 0 or 1 or more in an integral number, and (a)+(m) is below an effective atomic value number of Ar. In order to adhere and secure the polymer film directly to the surface of the conductive product 11, the hydoxyl aromatic compound is polymerized to the surface of the conductive product 11 by an electrolytic oxidizing polymerization, or a polymer is dissolved in benzene, and the solution is adhered and secured to the conductive product surface by immersion, coating, and drying. A most preferable method is an electrolytic oxidizing polymerization process, and the process is such that the hydroxyl aromatic compound is electrolytic-oxidizing-polymerized in a solvent such as methanol which is alkalified. |
