PURPOSE:To form an electrophotographic sensitive body usable for all the existing electrophotographic processes and having practicable high sensitivity characteristics and stable potential characteristics during repeated uses by incorporating a specified disazo pigment in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer contains one of the disazo pigments represented by formula I in which each of X1 and X2 is H or halogen, and each is independent of each other, and A is a coupler residue having a phenolic OH. The disazo pigment to be used can be embodied by table 1, thus permitting one or both of carrier generating efficiency and carrier transfer efficiency to be improved, the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and superior in potential stability during a durability test, and a good image free from fog to be obtained with high sensitivity even in the oscillation wavelength region of a semiconductor laser. |
