PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a cylinder block by providing a horizontal fuel injection pump on the side wall of a gear case of the cylinder block and by supporting the regulator shaft of a fuel increase/decrease lever on a gear case cover in parallel with a crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:In a horizontal Diesel engine mounted on a tractor 1, etc., a gear case section 15 is formed on the front wall of a cylinder block 2 and a horizontal fuel injection pump 16 is fixed to the left end side wall 15a. The outlet section of said pump 16 is connected to an injection nozzle 18 through a fuel high pressure pipe 17 and the inlet section is connected to a fuel tank 7 through a fuel pipe 20. A horizontal regulator shaft 21 extending longitudinally is supported to a gear case cover 4 portion near said pump 16 and is arranged in parallel with a crank shaft 6. Accordingly, the fitting of parts to the front of the gear case cover 4 is facilitated and also the weight of the cylinder block 2 can be reduced by inclining the upper wall of the gear case section 15. |
