PURPOSE:To permit a high-speed by quickly conducting the heat of a head to the ink layer by providing a heat transfer layer having a thermally conductive anisotropy in the thicknesswise direction as an ink support layer or an interposition layer between a heat-meltable ink layer and the thermal head. CONSTITUTION:An ink film 18 is provided along the axial direction of a platen between a recording paper 2 on the platen 5 and thermal head 13. The ink film 18 has a double-layer structure consisting of a heat-melting ink layer 19 and an ink support layer 20 as a heat transfer layer. The ink suppport layer 20 used is one prepared by dispersing and orientating by magnetic field a heat-conductive material 22, e.g., magnetic iron powder, nickel powder, etc., into a resin 20 having excellent heat-resistant and wear-resistant properties. Also, the ink film 50 has a single layer structure of only the heat-melting ink layer 19, and a protective film 51 consisting of the same heat conductive layer as said ink support layer 20 may be interposed between the ink film 50 and the thermal head 13. |
