PURPOSE:To attain easy key operation and to decrease the time required for conversion, by outputting general words and proper nouns not stored in a memory as Kana (Japanese syllabary) strings and words as they are. CONSTITUTION:When a general word mode M1 is selected, a collating circuit RA collates a word to be converted transmitted from a gate GI1 with a word being mixture of Kanji (Chinese characters) stored in a memory TA, and transmits a Kana character string through a gate GA1 if the corresponding Kanji- mixed word does not exist. When the proper noun/Katakana (square form of Japanese syllabary) mode M2 is selected, a Katakana conversion circuit CNV converts the word to be converted from a gate GI2 into a Katakana. A collating circuit RB collates the Katakana with the word mixed with Kanji stored in a memory TB, and if the corresponding Kanji-mixed word does not exist, the Katakana is transmitted through a gate GB1 without being converted. |
