PURPOSE:To detect the normalcy of the position of the stoppage of a carriage accurately by referring to information set to a timer determining the phase changeover timing of a pulse motor when the carriage reaches a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:A recording head is mounted onto the carriage 1, and the carriage 1 is supported to support shafts 2, 3 through bearings 1a, 1b, etc., and can be moved in the axial direction of the support shafts 2, 3. Driving wires 5, 6, one ends thereof are wound on the shaft of the pulse motor 4, are connected at both ends in the direction of movement of the carriage 1 through idle pulleys 7a, 7b. A photo-interrupter 8 is mounted near the left end of the range of movement of the carriage 1. When the carriage 1 interrupts the beams of the photo- interrupter 8, the normalcy of the position of the stoppage of the carriage 1 is detected on the basis of information set to the timer determining the phase changeover timing of the pulse motor 4. |
