PURPOSE:To obtain a plane plate type picture display having a very inexpensive electrode structure, by laminating plural sheet-shaped electrode plates, where holes for passage of an electron beam are provided, to constitute a means which deflects the electron beam. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal deflecting electrode 7 consists of sheet-shaped electrode plates 71 and 73 and a spacer 72. Electrode plates 71 and 73 are not cut with a laser beam but is provided with through holes by etching and are used as parts of the horizontal deflecting electrode 7. Since sheet-shaped electrode plates 71 and 73 are laminated, deflecting voltages are applied to upper and lower plates independently of each other to deflect the electron beam as shown in the figure by electron beams 62. By forming the deflecting electrode of this constitution, the plane plate type picture display having the very inexpensive electrode structue is produced in a very simple process. |
