PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate colorimeter by finding tristimulus values by the colorimeter, calculating Munsell symbols from them, finding a color density value from the Munsell symbols, and detecting on and displaying the class of color fastness based upon the density difference between the color density value and a reference color value. CONSTITUTION:The colorimeter 1 finds the tristimulus value XYZ, which is inputted through an interface 2 to the central processor 3 of a computer of obtain a Munsell hue H, value V, and chroma C of Munsell system of color according to arithmetic procedures stored in an ROM5, RAM6, and floppy unit 7, thereby calculating a Munsell symbol HV/C. Then, the color density value C* is found from an equation I. The density difference DELTAC* between the value C* and the color density value C*0 of a reference color is found and on the basis of this, classes of color fastness, i.e. Nc for discoloration and discoloration and Ns for contamination are obtained from equations II and III respectively to display them on a printer 8 and a cathode-ray tube device 9. Thus, accurate, precise measurement is carried out without the intervention of the naked eyes. |
