PURPOSE:To decide on the abrasion of tread grooves, estimated life of a tire, etc., speedily and accurately by measuring tire tread groove depth through a prescribed sensor and performing necessary arithmetic through a computer. CONSTITUTION:At intervals of a run distance of 500km, etc., inputted to a computer part 3 through a keyboard 6 together with the initial depth a of tire tread grooves, the sensor part 1 consisting of a measurer 13, rack 7a and pinion (b), potentiometer (c), lateral bar 12, etc., measures tire tread groove depth Bi. The measurement value is applied through an A/D converter 2 to the computer part 3 for arithmetic through an A/D converter 2 to the computer part 3 for arithmetic based upon a formulaIto decide on the abrasion X of the tire tread grooves and further to decide on the estimated life of the tire by arithmetic based upon a formulaII(where K is a constant). Consequently, the abrasion of tire tread grooves and the tire life are calculated speedily and accurately through this constitution which eliminates the need to measure the groove depth by slide calipers and to perform manual calculations. |
