PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-layer liquid crystal cell by dividing a substrate, by providing a scribe line at a prescribed position of an intermediate substrate, and laminating upper and lower substrates having a scribe line through a sealing material, with regard to a multi-layer liquid crystal display element by a dry type method. CONSTITUTION:A dividing line 25 is formed by wire-drawing a scribe line 24 by a diamond on an intermediate substrate 22 of a liquid crystal display element. An upper substrate 21 and a lower substrate 26 are formed by placing this intermediate substrate 22 between them through sealing materials 23, 24, by which a large-sized double layer type liquid crystal display substrate is obtained. Subsequently, on the upper substrate 21 and the lower substrate 26, a scribe line 28 and a scribe line 29 are wire-drawn by a diamond, respectively. After that, by dividing along the dividing lines of the scribe lines 24, 28 and 29 of the upper substrate 21, the intermediate substrate 22 and the lower substrate 26, a double layer liquid crystal display substrate having 2 groups of liquid crystal display layers is obtained. Subsequently, by charging a liquid crystal into said substrate, a multi-layer type liquid crystal display element is obtained by a dry type method. |
