Saccharification of lignocellulosic materials comprises a pretreatment followed by an enzymatic hydrolysis by means of celluloses, the improvement being that pretreatment is effected with a delignifying solvent comprising an amine, pref. an ethanolamine, esp. monoethanolamine. Ratio of amine/cellulosic materials is 3-15, pref. 5-10. Pretreatment is at 80-170, pref. 140-170, esp. 160 deg.C. The cellulase pref. originates from Trichoderma reesei. Concn. of lignocellulosic materials in the hydrolysis medium is pref. 0.5-30% by wt. (5-300 g/l.), esp. 1-10% (10-100 g/l.). The process is applicable to various lignocellulosic materials, esp. straw or wood, and results in enzymic degradation of cellulose and hemicelluloses in a relatively short time.
|
