A combustion engine with a carburettor upstream of its intake chamber for a fuel/air mixture or the like fed to the combustion engine is to be improved with regard to the energy conversion. To this end at least one vaporising device (30) is provided between carburettor (8) and engine in the mixture flow chamber, which device is connected to the engine by way of at least one vapour duct. At the same time the intake connection of the engine is to be connected to a housing (3) or the like lying in the flow path of the mixture and the inner chamber (12) of the housing is to accommodate at least one heating element (30). <IMAGE>
