PURPOSE:To simplify a detecting device, and also to make it inexpensive, by constituting it so that the position of an optical placing plate is detected by a single detector, and a timing signal required for control is obtained. CONSTITUTION:On the home position side of an optical placing plate 4, a single position detector 7 is provided so that detection of the optical placing plate and its movement control are executed. In case when paper jam has occured in the previous copying, or the optical placing plate 4 has stopped at other place than a prescribed position by turning off an electric power supply, the optical placing plate 4 is moved by a specified distance in the scanning direction through the position detector 7 by a signal from a paper jam detector 23, a signal from an electric power supply turn-on detector 25, etc., the position of the optical placing plate 4 is detected, and after that, operation of the optical plate 4 is controlled. According to such constitution, the position of the optical placing plate is detected and runaway is prevented by the single position detector, therefore, the detecting device is simplified, and also it is made inexpensive. |
