PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity for both the recording and reproducing modes, by adhering a nonmagnetic material to the front butted face and also adhering a magnetic material of high permeability which has an equal thickness to said nonmagnetic material to the rear butted face respectively. CONSTITUTION:The butted face of a core half body 1 made of a magnetic material of high permeability is finished by lapping, and then the masking is applied to the rear butted face 1b. At the same time, a nonmagnetic material 2, e.g. SiO2 which serves as a gap width is adhered to the front butted face 1a with a prescribed thickness by a vapor deposition or sputtering process. Then the masking is applied to the side of the face 1a, and a magnetic material 4 of high permeability is adhered to the face 1b with a thickness equal to the above- mentioned gap width by a vapor deposition or sputtering process. Thus a core half body is obtained. A coil is loaded to the core half body and then butted with another core half body which is formed in the same way. In such a way, a magnetic head element is obtained. |
