PURPOSE:To obtain an economical photo-coupler with flat surface by providing a light emitting element which emits the light corresponding to supply of an input signal on a substrate, covering such light emitting surface with a transparent insulating film and by stacking thereon a light receiving element consisting of non-single-crystal semiconductor element which receives the light having passed an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:A first and a second light emitting elements 2a and 2b are formed on an insulating substrate 1 consisting of glass or heat-proof plastic. Here, the sandwich structure is employed. Namely, these elements places an amorphous semiconductor layer 3 between them, a stainless steel metal electrode film 4 is provided at the rear side and a transparent electrode film 5 is provided at the surface. Next, the light sensible elements 7a, 7b of the same structure consisting of a transparent electrode film 8, amorphous semiconductor layer 9 and metal electrode film 10 are provided thereon opposing to the elements 2a and 2b from the lower side, and the lead wires 12 and 13 are provided to the exposed end of film 8 and the exposed end of film 10 of the element 7a, and finally the entire surface is covered with a protection film 11 such as SiO2 etc. Thereafter, a mold 14 is applyed on the entire part. |
