PURPOSE:To shorten the processing time and to improve the reliability, by providing a means to an output arithmetic device to select the output signal given from an endless vernier and at the same time reading the absolute value of the output signal. CONSTITUTION:An endless vernier is provided with a variable resistor 1VR which produces the 1st output signal and a variable resistance 2VR which produces the 2nd output signal. These outputs undergo an operation through an output arithmetic device 2A. A resetting means is added to reset the device 2A. In addition, an output selecting means is provided to the device 2A to supply the selection signals 1SE and 2SE which select either one of the 1st and 2nd output signals. Then the absolute value of the output signal of the variable resistance is read, and therefore the output signal Out has no change when the switching is carried out between the resistances 1VR and 2VR. As a result, the outut signal supplied from either one of both variable resistors is read at all times to shorten the processing time. Furthermore the reliability is improved owing to the reading of the absolute value. |
