PURPOSE:To prevent the engine and a power train from being thrusted into the interior of the vehicle at the time of a collision, by a method wherein the amount of the vehicle deformation is restricted by providing stopping members at the parts faced to the outside peripheral surfaces of tires of wheels. CONSTITUTION:A radiator core support 9 is provided at a front end part of a front side member 1, and to left and right end parts of the support 9 which are faced to the outside peripheral surfaces of the tires of the wheels 5, the stopping members 11 consisting of an elastic body such as a rubber are fixed through brackets 10. Therefore, when the vehicle comes into a head-on collision, the support 9 is moved rearwards, and before the collapsing movement of the vehicle reaches the final stage of collision, the stopping members 11 function so that the collision energy is absorbed into load wheels 5b through tire parts 5a of the wheels 5. Accordingly, the engine E and the power train P can be prevented from being thrusted into the interior of the vehicle. |
